Tiffany Reclaimed Glass Mosaic Planter

Kayza Gillbanks

“Once designed to illuminate a room, these historic Tiffany glass fragments now find new life as a living artwork, celebrating both craftsmanship and renewal.”

Created from reclaimed glass sourced from an original Tiffany lamp, this extraordinary mosaic planter is a unique fusion of heritage craftsmanship, sustainability and contemporary design.

Artist Kayza Gillbanks has carefully salvaged and repurposed the coloured glass from a genuine Tiffany lamp, preserving the beauty and character of the original materials while transforming them into an entirely new artwork. Every individual piece has been hand cut, shaped and meticulously laid by hand onto a traditional terracotta planter, creating a striking botanical mosaic inspired by nature.

Deep emerald greens, soft blush pinks, delicate lilacs and warm amber tones flow across the surface in a tapestry of leaves and organic forms. The distinctive glass, originally designed to illuminate interiors as part of a Tiffany lamp, now captures and reflects light in a new way, bringing colour, texture and movement to the piece.

Blurring the boundary between sculpture and function, this planter celebrates the art of reinvention. By preserving fragments of a historic decorative object and giving them a second life, Gillbanks creates a work that carries both a story and a legacy within its surface.

No two pieces can ever be repeated. Each shard of glass retains its own unique colour variation and history, making this a truly one of a kind collector’s piece.
