Nightfall captures the dramatic beauty of Assaranca Waterfall in County Donegal as daylight gently surrenders to evening. Illuminated by a combination of flash and the very last traces of natural light, the cascading water appears almost ethereal, flowing like silk through the darkness and into the still pool below.

Steve Dixey has further enhanced the image with delicate hand applied acrylic brushstrokes, subtly highlighting the rivulets of water and creating a unique mixed media finish that bridges photography and painting.
